Dr. Bruce L. Hammonds
Dr. Hammonds received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1980 from Pacific University College of Optometry, located in Forest Grove, Oregon.
Prior to entering Optometry School,
Dr. Hammonds served in the United States Air Force at USAF Regional Hospital, MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida . While stationed at MacDill AFB, Dr. Hammonds attended the University of South Florida as an undergraduate student majoring in microbiology. After completing his military obligation he transferred to Pacific University where he continued his studies and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science then continued on in the College of Optometry where he earned his Doctor of Optometry Degree.
Dr. Hammonds has been in private practice in Georgia since 1982 and at his current location in Watkinsville, Georgia since 1989 where he provides medical eye health and management of ocular disease as well as vision care for children and adults.
Dr. Hammonds is a Georgia State Board of Optometry licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and a member of the American Optometric Association, the Georgia Optometric Association, American Optometric Association Contact Lens and Cornea Section, 10th District Georgia Optometric Society, Southern Council of Optometrists, and Athens Sertoma Club, a volunteer civic group.
Dr. Hammonds is a native of Key West, Florida, but resides happily in Watkinsville, Georgia with his wife Anne and three children.
